Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Located in California, in the Sonoma Coast wine region, SCV was founded in 2011 aby John and Barbara Drady along with winemaker Anthony Austin. The vines are located just five miles from the Pacific Ocean and benefit from the cool climate of this area west of the Russian River Valley. The company produces excellent quality artisanal wines predominantly based on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The grapes for the Gold Ridge Hills Chardonnay are sourced from the Petersen Vineyard and the Antonio Mountain Vineyard, located in the western part of the Sonoma Coast. The soil here consists predominantly of sandy loam of the Goldridge series, which is ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This Chardonnay is a wine of character with pleasant aromas and pale lemon-yellow color. The nose is buttery with sweet aromas of tropical fruit and cherry blossom. On the palate, the wine is soft and silky with notes of brioche and tropical fruit that return pleasantly on the finish and a slight mineral note that adds complexity. It is a medium-bodied wine that goes well with white meat served with buttery sauces or crab.
